Pharmaceutical Laboratories are properly tuned for training the students in the different disciplines of pharmaceutical sciences. Students are preparing and performing on the given method for formulating drugs in different dosage forms e.g. Tablets, Capsules, Parenterals, Ointments, Creams, Gel, Eye drops, Syrups, etc.
An exposure to various practical aspects of Pharmaceutics like Physical Pharmacy, Unit operation, Dispensing Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biopharmaceutics, Community Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, etc are being taught.
Drug interaction, stability studies are regular phenomena. An exposure to various aspects of filling, packing, selling, labeling are being given in order to enrich students knowledge.
Cosmetology plays a major role in the present society so useful learning and knowledge are given to students and further trained them in manufacturing cosmetics like Vanishing Creams, Cold Cream, Lotion, Liniment, Hair Dye, Lipstick, Perfume, Shampoo etc. Microbiological screening, testing and anti-microbial activity are carried out in the Pharmaceutical Microbiology Laboratory. The determination of the size, shape and relative positions of the different cell and tissues, determination of chemical nature of the cell walls, form and chemical nature of cell content, Standardization of crude drugs, Extraction, isolation and characterization of phytomarkers, Biological evaluation of isolated phytomarkers, Formulation and Evaluation of herbal products are studied in pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry laboratory.
The research interest of the Department is in carrying out studies on novel drug delivery system such as Liposomes, nanosuspension, microspheres etc.
